Good reasons

That's what Muon stands for.

Function

Sports. Movement. Performance. Activity and exercise make us sweat. Functional clothing helps us get the most out of our performance. It absorbs and transports moisture. It feels good. It cools and is breathable. Dries quickly. And it's lightweight. These features are usually only offered by synthetic textiles such as polyester, lycra or nylon. New Age Cellulose fibres from birch, eucalyptus and other trees are the future. They are the natural alternative - breathable, temperature-regulating, antibacterial and comfortable.

Nature

Synthetic clothing is harmful to the environment : microfibres and therefore many plastic particles are released into the waste water every time it is washed. In an average washing cycle, this represents about 138,000 mixed fabric fibres. In the case of pure polyester textiles, 496,000 fibres, or 730,000 in the case of acrylic fabrics. Sewage treatment plants cannot filter tiny microplastics. They end up in open water and sewage sludge on our fields. That's why we use natural fibres - biodegradable, 100% compostable.

Durability

Our textiles are based on natural and renewable botanical resources. While plastic is made from petroleum, our fibres are made from fast-growing wood cellulose. Production is environmentally friendly and free of chemical pollutants. It uses about 10 times less water and produces far fewer emissions than most other textiles. We attach equal importance to fair economic and ethical conditions throughout the value chain. This is ensured by certified labels.

Wellness

The activity should do us good. But what if it does us harm ? There are many studies on the harmfulness of plastics and clothing chemistry. One thing is certain : the skin is our largest organ. And when we sweat, the pores open. Little is known about the long-term consequences of plasticizers, additives and other substances. Muon doesn't need them. A plus for allergy sufferers, too. Our fibres have antibacterial properties by nature. They regulate moisture, reduce the growth of germs and thus - as a pleasant side effect - also odour.
